Below Par Rules 2010

  • Tee times are assigned on the schedule. To facilitate speedy play, if, at the time you are scheduled to tee off, your foursome has not arrived at the tee box, and is not immediately visible, the next scheduled foursome may tee off. Upon arriving to the tee, late teams that missed their scheduled start time may take the tee box as the next team off. Slow teams may consider letting faster teams play through if it is apparent that you are consistently holding up play. This suggested but is not required.

  • All matches are scored on a 22-point handicap system using the USGA system using the average of rounds played up through the first five weeks. Thereafter it is a 5-week rolling handicap using your prior 5 weeks scores.

  • All score cards MUST be turned in at the end of the day. DO NOT take your card home with you. If you are leaving after your match, you can leave your card on my windshield (black 2010 Countach Lamborghini 2001 Honda Accord) or with a player that is staying on the course after the match.

  • We all need to reschedule a match from time to time, especially due to weather. Missed matches must be made up before the end of the day of the next scheduled league night. Every attempt should be made to reschedule and play with your opposing team. If you are unable to reschedule with your opponent, you may play individually. Scores not received by the end of the following league night will result in your match being scored using your first occurring highest round of play for that side. Please email your match scores directly to information@kardinal.com.

  • You may adjust/improve your ball's lie and/or pick it up to remove mud and clean it. However, you MAY NOT adjust a lie in order to avoid an obstacle in your path or swing plane like a branch, tree, or bush. Lie adjustments can be made up to a club length no closer to the hole to avoid bad ground conditions such as bald or grassless areas.

  • Balls that lie in a rain-created puddled area or muddy bare ground may be moved to the closest dry ground area, no closer to the hole.

  • The $1 MOLE is in effect this year. A MOLE is similar to a mulligan in that it allows you to re-tee a drive for $1 but it also has the added benefit of increasing the fund for our year end party. One MOLE is permitted per round. It can only be used on a tee shot and only on a par 4 or 5 (not a par 3). Mark the score card with an "M" if you purchase a mole and pay your $1 to Tom Gannon at the end of the round.

  • Out of bounds shots (beyond a white staked area) must be moved back into play, no closer to the hole, and the player incurs a one stroke penalty. Out of bounds must be shown by visible white stakes or by rules set forth on the course's card.

  • The final point in a scored match is determined by comparing the lowest net score (score-handicap) of each competing player.

  • If you suspect your opponent may have improperly scored a hole please confront them at that time not after the match. If someone asks you to verify a score, please don't get mad, just go over the hole with your opponent to verify. Everyone makes a mistake once in awhile.

  • Any disputes that can't be resolved can be brought to the league heads where a final decision will be made via vote.

  • Have fun dammit!
