- TEE TIMES - Tee times are assigned on the schedule. To facilitate speedy play, if, at the time you are scheduled to tee off, your foursome has not arrived at the tee box, the next scheduled foursome may tee off. Upon arriving to the tee, late teams that missed their scheduled start time may take the tee box as the next team off. Slow teams please consider letting faster teams or threesomes play through if it is apparent that you are consistently holding up play.
- SCORING - All matches are scored on a 22-point system using scoring average of rounds played up through the first six weeks. Thereafter it is a 6-week rolling handicap using your previous 6 weeks scores.
As of 2014 there is no more 10 shot max score per hole. Play until you hole out.
- BALL LIE - You may adjust your lie and clean your ball if you are in the fairway or 1st cut. You may not move your ball if you are in the rough.
On all nights, if your balls lies in casual water (rain-made puddles), it may be moved to the closest dry ground, no closer to the pin.
This does not include the natural ditches on the course.
- BALL PLUGGED - On all nights if your ball plugs in the ground, it may be picked, cleaned and replaced.
- BALL LOST, UNPLAYABLE, OR OUT OF BOUNDS - You may declare your ball unplayable or lost at any time and take a one stroke penalty.
You then either 1) re-hit re-tee from the origInal place, 2) move your ball to a place of nearest relief, no closer to the hole, and not purposefully improving your angle for the next shot, or 3) you can move backward in the direction the ball was hit from as far as you want to place your ball.
Out of bounds lines are defined by visible white stakes or by rules set forth on the course's card.
- OBSTACLES - You may NOT move your ball to avoid any non-manmade obstacle such as branches, roots, rocks, and stumps.
You may however move your ball if your swing or shot path is impeded in any way by any man-made obstacle such as cart path, fencepost, sprinklers, rope, or signs.
If your ball goes next to or under a tree, you can move (not break) branches in order to get yourself into position to make a swing.
You may break branches accidentally in the act of swinging however with no penalty.
Your partner may not assist you such as holding back, bending, or breaking branches to improve your intended golf swing or improve your path to the green.
If you are unsure, ask your opponent for permission.
- MOLES - The MOLE is in effect this year. A MOLE is similar to a mulligan in that it allows you to re-tee a drive for $1 but it also has the added benefit of increasing the fund for our year-end party.
One MOLE is permitted per round. It can only be used ONLY on a tee shot on any hole except the closest to the PIN par 3.
Moles MUST be prepaid and purchased at the beginning of the year. $12 covers all weeks.
- SKINS - You can't win a skin if you are using a sub OR using your worst round OR not playing on league night.
- DISPUTES - If you suspect your opponent may have improperly scored a hole please confront them at that time not after the match.
If someone asks you to verify a score, please don't get mad, just go over the hole with your opponent to verify.
Everyone makes a mistake once in awhile.
Any disputes that can't be resolved can be brought to the elected league officials where a final decision will be determined via vote.
- SUBS - Any player can play as the sub for their absent teammate and use their round to be scored against both opponents' scores. This MUST be announced before the round begins to be allowed.
Real person Sub handicaps are determined each and every night they play and are new each time.
Real Subs play against the person they are scheduled to play against regardless of flight.
- MAKE-UP ROUNDS - You can make up a round ONLY if the entire foursome agrees to a makeup within that match week.
Made up matches must be completed before the end of the day of the next scheduled league night.
If your opponents do not agree to participate in a makeup, subs must be used so the round can play as scheduled on Monday.
A sub can be the teammate playing a dual card, a real sub playing along with the teammate, or a real sub playing a dual card.
If none of these exists then the worst round will be used.
Scores not received by the end of the following league night will result in your match being scored using your first occurring highest round of play for that side.
If there are not yet six complete scores for a given side, some of last years scores will be included to make six full prior rounds for a side.
If no prior golf year exists for a player, the round will be scored with all triple bogies.
- BAD WEATHER - If a team/player leaves the course mid-round due to weather or other reason, the abandoned holes will be scored based on the players worst round using the same worst round policies as would be used for an entire missed round.
- LOW NET - For a round to be eligible for Low Net, the player must have an established handicap with the league of at least 6 weeks.
