The 2025 League Champions

And so it begins! The 24th season of this prestigious league that is unlike any other in the area. Congratulations to last years Champions, Tom and Dave, as they are now the ones with a bullseye on their backs. Can they repeat or will we have a 1st time champion this year!? All I know is I'm ready to play golf and enjoy time spent with good people every Monday night.

The weather was not ideal, to say the least. It did turn on us right at the start of our tee time and seeing as we could still play and the majority of the league was there, we did roll with it. And it was by far not the worst weather we've played in. A wise man once said "Save the make-up weeks for weather we CANT play in, and not conditions we dont WANT to play in". Right Tom?

Our 1st round of the year saw a few players go low and a few others rack up some big points. Todd Allen had the nights best round(golfing in Florida!?) with a 39. This also set the pace for low net at 32. Good shooting! Other low scores(relative to handicap) on the night: Kasper(44), Matt Smaldon(44), Joe Hazeltine(45),Mike Sreca(45),Josh Lamb(49), and Chad Miller(52). Mikes round resulted him picking up 9.5 points on the night seemingly starting where he left off last year. Joshs score of 49 netted him 9.0 points.

Joshs round was further capped off by giving his team the early lead in the standings with 18 points. He also earned CTP with his shot on #6 landing about 20-25 ft from the pin.

There was only ONE skin out and it was earned with a birdie on #2(via chip in) by Joe Hazeltine. An early $26 return is always nice!

The name Joe must be synonymous with "good putter". Both Joes had the nights lowest putting round at 13. Ryan Bates, last years putting champion says wait until I get there.

Two players really started this year out shooting very well compared to last years average and they were Todd and Chad. Todd currently leads MIP with a -5.4 scoring improvment and Chad is right there at -5.3.

Please be sure to bring your league fee payment to Eric Rothdiener by no later than week 4
First tee time starts at 4:30, remember pace of play, don't want last groups to have to worry about fighting darkness
Please refrain from bringing outside alcoholic beverages to the course
We will try to make a decision when it comes to weather as soon as possible..sometimes we make the right call, sometimes we don't, but one thing we can't control is the weather
